PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS.
BUSINESS QUIET IN AUCKLAND. (nl TELEGRAPH—riIESS ASSOCIATION.) • Auckland, July 23. A prominent Auckland land agent states that property transactions aro nothing liko as plentiful as they wero this time last year. Discussing the position, he ascribed tho causo partially to the fall in the price of wool. "Another reason," he declared, "for tho quietness of business in our profession is undoubtedly the 'rotton' legislation of tho Government. They spend all'their time in pandering to tho working classes, legislating for tho trades unionists, and they neglect the interests of the agriculturalist' and pastornlist. Farmers cannot afford under present conditions to employ tho requisite labour to work their lands." In his opinion, lie added, the Opposition should concentrate their efforts upon securiug country seats and , leave the city seats aloiie.
