Giving evideiico concerning tho recent fatal accident, oil the British battleship Britannia, Engineer-Lieutenant Shaw stated that it'was caused by'tho over-heating of a tube in the water-tube boiler. Tho tube, which was normally "till, in diameter, got white hot, and swelled .Until it bnrst, making a hole Bin. by lOiri., the edges being as thin as paper.
