INCREASE IN DUNEDIN. ; (DI TELEGRAm —PRESS ASSOCIATION.), Dunedin, July 16. Another'inoreaso of Id. per lb. was mado in tho prico of butter in tho local market to-day, Wholosalo prices are now Is. 3d. per lb. (bulk) and la, BJd. per lb. for prints; retail, Is. sd. TJio increaso is duofto tho pronounced shortago of supply; whioh 1 is one of the results of the floods and storms'in the Otago dairying distriots. Tho shrinkage in the supply of milk from Taiori, is exceptionally marked, and tho influences of distant markets havo helped to effect tho increaso. Tho South African demand is still extensivo, and tho export, trade to the United Ivingdom is steady and conaidcrablo. Local merchants considor tho present shortago of supply will continuo until tho end of August. The chances of an early decrease in price'are not promising. j
