REIKIORANGI.
Quito a number of farms are changing liands, Mr. W. M. Donovan 'being the latest to, sell. Ho will be greatly missed, especially at school concerts, in which he took great 'interest. ' The Ngatiawa Rifle Club is still firing for the . prizes given by donors. , Messrs. A. Clifton, H. Beare, W. Carter are leading on : the first round for the Captain's, Fresh Food; and the united farmers' -trophies' re-; spectively. . Tho. contractor (Mr. Millgrew) is making good progress with the Anglican Church, and hopes to be finished'in a month's time. - Quito a large area of land is being ploughed this year. • - Tho weather' for this time of the year is very mild, the growth of grass not being checked, aud the seed is coining away splendidly. The ne-ed of a school teacher's resident here is badly felt, as there is no accommodation house, and the place where they'are staying is only a temporary accommodation. The concerts and dances, in aid of the school piano, -are; well patronised. The teacher (Miss Banks) has something like £15 or £20 in hand.' ; The opossums seem to have had a bad time during the late bush fires. No fewer than I seven skeletons can ho. seen lying .on tho edge of Mr. Connor's bush. •
