DUNEDIN ELECTRICAL POWER.
(BT TELEQEiPH.—SFECIiL COEBESPONDENT.) ', Dunodln,' July - 3.' The City Electrical 'Engineer • (Sir. Stark) returned from Waipori last evening; - Tho men worked at the repairs to tho 1 fluming until half-past ten -lastnight,-' but when the water was turned on it was found that the fluming'was leaking, and it had-to bs caulked with oakum. ' This necessitated a further delay, and instead of the electrical power' being availablo early this morning, it was not turned on until 2.30 this afternoon. Mr. Stark says that the rock which knocked a holo. in the fluming weighed about three tons, and came , down from a height of 200 feet. .'Tho fluming itself was not much damaged, • but the trouble was that tho water from it washed away about 50 feet of the, benching. , It was the filling in of the benching that- took the time.' .It had to be built up with rock- from below. In his opinion, the best thing to bo done is replaco the fluming by a .tunnol, and this would save any further trouble. The tramways were again coimocted at 3.20 p.m.
