PROPOSED INCREASES IN WAGES. (BY lELEOBAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT)
Dunodln, July 3.
A conference was called for this afternoon between the Tramways Manager and tho. re». presentatives of the men in regard to the proposed ; increases" in the salaries of tho tramway employees, whioh practically' mean a rise of one shilling a day all round. It is also proposed to give tho men employed' in the tram sheds a corresponding increaso. Tho result of tho conforenco will be reported to a meoting of tho Union. Tho Arbitration Court award, undor which tho men are working, expires, in Novembor, but this'does not prevent thom being given an increaso right away.
