WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Wellington Boxing Assis> ciation was held at Armit's Booms last evening; Dr. Napier M'Lean presiding. Thero was a good attendance of members. Mr. It- Bligh, secretary of the Palmerston North Boxing Association,-forwarded particulars with reference to the proposal of the Palmerston North Association to hold a provincial contest. Rules — New Zealand Boxing Council. Rounds—Three rounds cacli of 3 . minutes, minute intervals. Referee — Colonel Chafley. Mr. Albert Parker, Dunedin, wrote asking for a light-weight contest., .As .the season's fixtures had been arranged, the request could not be granted. ' ' Mr. T. S. Ronaldson, chairman of\the Wei-, lington Physical Training College, wrote with reference to the school's annual boxing competition to bo held in the Concert. Room, Town Hall, on August 18. ' The meeting decided that as the regulations prescribed an 18ft. ring, and the limit possible on tho? concert-room platform was only 14ft., a representative (Mr. Taylor) bo appointed to confer .with the school authorities and explain tho principle points of the law on boxing contests. • Preliminary arrangements wero made for the 10-round professional contest between the well-known ex-amateurs, A. Gault and J. Gosling, to be held at the Opera House on Julj- 13. It was decided that the prices of admission be as follows Family circle, 2s.'; back stalls, 35.; dress circle and orchestral stalls, ,45.; .stage, 10s. Messrs. T.' Sampson, and T. Taylor were appointed official seconds;' scales, Messrs. Coffey and Platts, stag©, managers, Messrs. Day and Lang. .' Two six-round events have also been arranged as "curtain-raisers," the contestants being G. Selway and T.\ W. Kerr and G. Donoghue and 0. J. Parry.
