It is reported that Lcmoinc, who is charged with swindling Sir Julius Wonihor of ,£'64,000 on pretence that ho can manufacture diamonds, and who lied after being liberated on bail to givo liim a. chance to prove his skill, has been arrested.

' "In the laboratory which wo have arranged for Lemoine at St. Denis," said tho magistrate, "he will, omploy an enormous current of 2000 amperes. With such a current tile whole place might bo blown up, and what more mysterious end to this mysterious business could 'there he than the disappearance of Lemoine with his secret and his laboratory destroyed by an explosion?" ' "And what about the experts and yourself'" the intorviewcr asked. "We should ho blown up, too," was the magistrate's-reply, "It is of course, .only a hypothesis, but I have recommended tho experts to insure thoir lives, and have heavily insured my own."
