THE WEATHER FOR JUNE.
Though the wcather;,in tho-jatter part of June was damp and generally unpleasant, tho record for tho month, as compiled by tho Meteorological Offico, does not compare so unfavourably with that of tho same month m 1907 as might Have been expected. -It rained on five more days this year than last, thero was six hours less > sunshine,' and tho mean daily _ velocity of tho wind was nearly one-third higher. On the other hand, thero , were only six frosts as'against ten',' and'tho, mean temperature was ,3i degrees higher, i The details aro as follow, tho figures for June, 1907, being given in parentheses, Rainfall, 4.84 on 19 days (4.29 oh 14 days); maximum fall, 1.40, on 30th (1.34 on 13th.)
Sunshine, 86hrs. Brain. (92hrs. lOmiu.).-, Temperature, moan, 50.6 degrees (47 .p. degrees); highest, 60.0 degrees (58.5 degrees) ; lowest, 39.0.degrees (33.0 degreos.).' Numbor of frosts .on ground, 6 (10). . "Wind, mean daily velocity, 360 miles (267 miles); highest total'in one day, 773 miles (637 miles); lowest total in one day,- 34-miles; (22 miles). ; The averago rainfall for .'Juno, in previous years is 5.00 inches, and the averago mean temperature 49.5 degrees, the past month being above the average in both cases. ■
