Alfred George Robinson, who had pleaded guilty at Invercargill to a serious criminal offence, was sentenced to-day to eighteen months' imprisonment. When the Supreme Court resumed to.hear the case of Pitches v. M'Kuight, an action to recover £1026, money's alleged to havo htm beaqueathed by Mrs. Pitches to her, daughter, Mrs. M'Knigbt, .Mr. Solomon, for the plaintiff, announced ' that a settlement had boon arrived at, defending counsel being unable, after hearing the evidence, to support the defendant's claim.
