The thanksgiving service at St. Paul's iu connection with the Pan-Anglican Congress was stately and impressive, though there was studied simplicity. The Lord Mayor, th 6 Sheriff, and 6000 delegates were present.' The 6ishops wore their convocation robes. The Archbishop of Canterbury briefly-re-minded the people that they must not look for the coming of a few colossal men to. be patterns and champions, of a'good life, but tho Church must valiantly, persistently, and hopefully strive to mend wliat is - crooked, ignorant, and amiss in tho world.. The bishops presented freewill offerings from the dioceses, amounting to £333,208 — •England and Wales contributing £257,122, Scotland £5599, Ireland £3939, the Army £394, English and colonial dioceses £63,695, and American'dioceses £14,055. . The Archbishop of Melbourne (Dr. Clarke) and Mrs. Clarke, the Archbishop of Sydney (Dr. Saumarez Smith), the Bishop of Auckland (Dr. Noligan), the Bishop of Melanesia (Rt. Rev. Cecil Wilson), and tho Bishop of New Guinea (Dr. Stone Wigjg)' attended' a garden party given by-the Prince of' Wales.'
