-rr-.V\, • The members of intermediate branch of the boys' work department of. tho Y.M.C.A. met last night. On account'., of. .the. inclement weather and various other attractions, the attendance was small, only about 50 i)ein< T present. Mr. Reginald Eord (o. member 'of the' Board of the Christchurch Branch, Y.M.C.A.) gave a short address,about manliness, referring to his recent trip in the "Discovery" farthest South. A debate by four members of the Educational Committee followed. It was opened by Mr. H. 51'Girr on "Is Military Training Compulsory? " Ho and Mr. R. Parton spoko in favour of it. For the opposition, Mr. Roy Coad and Mr." Chas. Foster spoko well. A voto at the conclusion of the speeches was taken, and showod a majority of threo in favour 'of military training.
