WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD.

MONTHLY/MEETING. . The Wellington Harbour Board held its monthly .meeting 'yesterday afternoon. Present : —Messrs. T: M. AVilford, M.P. (chairman),/ F, H. Fraser, R. Fletcher, C. W. Jones, C. E, Daniell, J. W. M'Ewan, M. Cohen, and F. G. Bolton. ' The finances of the Board were reported on as follow: — > ■ Bank Pass Books.—Current'Account, credit balance, £19,031 12s. Gd.; Imprest Account, credit balance, £1000 ; Fixed Deposit Account', credit balance, £60,000. Payments.—For .accounts and wages, £9862 18s. Bd.; for progress payments on contracts, .•Q2892 33. 9d.; for salaries for June, £799 2s. 5d.; total, £13,554 4s. lOd. The payments were authorised. ,

Tho Chairman said that the progress in the construction of the King's Wharf was not so rapid as the Board had expected, and it looked as though', the anticipation that it would bo completed'by September ivould.be disappointed. ' The secretary and engineer had been instructed to communicate with tho contractor in this matter:

In accordance with a recommendation by the engineer, it was resolved to give the Wellington, Meat Export Company, Ltd., notice to" remove its suction'pipes crossing the seaward,portion.of.the Waterloo Quay reclamation'to another position along the'proposed approach to the new King's Wharf. Tho Chairman explained that this was necessary in. connection with some of the works of tho Board. " / In reply to Mr. Cohen, the Chairman said that accommodation, for the grading of tow would be provided in 18 months at the ;earliest; it might be two years. In reply to Mr. Bolton, the Chairman, said the plans for the extension of the Rona Bay Wharf would, be submitted' at the next monthly meeting.'

■ Tho Board, in committee, opeued ■ tenders for the. annual supply of uniforms and overcoats and caps. : The tenders were referred to tho Chairman and secretary, with power to accept after consultation with representatives of tho men. ,
