MAORI FOOTBALLERS.
A LAWSUIT. BT TELEOEAPH—PEKBS A6SOOIATIOK —COPTttIOHI. (Reo. June' 23, 10.55 p.m.) , Sydney, Juno 23. R. Jack, who ■ conducted with Asher tho oarly negotiations for the visit of the Maori team, has brought an equity suit against Asher and the members of the team, claiming a commission on tho takings. After Jack initialed the negotiations, ;the matter was taken over by tho' New South Wales League. Plaintiff claims that he agreed with Asher. to take 5 .per cent, of tho team's gate money, and divide it as a commission with Ashor for tho latter's part in completing tho arrangements. Asher, in a letter, alleges that he offered Jack 2} per cent, of the team's .share of the first gate. Ho never agreed to pay commission. Defendant has been allowed twenty days in which to enter an appearanco to the suit.
