PROPOSED CONVENTION. MATTER BEFORE PARLIAMENTS. BY IBLEGBAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATION—COPTRIGHI (Rec. June 23, 10.25 p m.) Capetown, June 23. The Cape Colony Assembly lias ooncurred with the resolution' passed by the ' Intercolonial Cusfcorcs and Railway Conference in favour of the union of South' Africa. In the Transvaal General Botha (Premier) and in the Orange River Colony Mr. Fischer (Premier) have invited their "Assemblies' to concur with the resolution. The' debates are unfinished. ■ >
The Conference unanimously accepted the principle of closer union. The Conference's recommendations, which are to_ be now submitted to tho South African "Parliaments, include the appointment, of delegates to a'Natiorial. Convention, which is to meet for tho purpose of framing a draft constitution.
