EXAMINATION OF OFFICERS. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES. By tho courtesy of the Chief of the Gene' ral Staff (Colonel A. W. Robin, C.8.), we are enabled to announce the results of tho "C" examination held on June S, 0, and 10, for officers of the Now Zealand Permanent. Force and Permanent Staff. Thcro were six candidates, all of whom passed. The "C" examination is a practical one, and its syllabus includes topography, engineering, tactics, and horse management. The results, in order of percentages, are as follow :— Percentage of Marks. 'Captain G. S. Richardson (Ecad- . quarters Staff) ~'81.3 Lieutenant R. I{. Smythe R.N.Z. G.A.). ... 63.2 Captain M. M. Gardner (R.N.Z. G.A.) 64.5 Captain T. W. M'Donald (District Staff) 63.9 Lieutenant R. 0. Chesney (R.N.Z. G.A.) ... 63 Captain H. E. Pilkington (R.N.Z. G.A.) ... ... 62.2 . *Captain G. S. Richardson, having obtained over 84 per cent, of marks, is awarded a special certificate in "C." Candidates who are officers of dismounted corps R.N.Z.G.A. are not reguired to pass in horse management. Tiro of those have, howover, qualified in this subject. Those are Captain Pilkington and Lioutenant Srnytho. Examinations in "D," "E," and "F" will bo held in November next.
