THE LATEST PARISIAN SKIRT.
The: novelty of the day (says the Paris correspondent of a London paper) is tho "trouser skirt." This is by no means the divided skirt under a new name, though when it's wearer is in motion it has somewhat the same appearance in front. The train of the dress: stretches out at the back in exactly the same manner : as that of any ordinary evening gown, but in front, from the. knees downward, it divides in. tho most original way,-just as if tho central portion were attached to the back of tho skirt. This offcct, which is only seen when the person i.% walking, is'entirely duo to the skilful cut of the skirt. Will it find favour in tho eyes of Parisian "elegantes"? I am rather doubtr. ful, for when I first saw an example of .it at a houso in the Place Vendome, it struck me as being decidedly eccentric, not to say ugly, and X have not yet had reason to change my opinion. .
