LACROSSE.

The Federal and .tlio Capitol Lacrosso Clubs met 011 .the Basin Resorvo 011 Saturday afternoon, and again the Federals were victorious, scoring 8 goalg to 4. Owing to the prevailing epidemic of influenza, neither club was able to put a full team on the field. Tlio Capitols started with two inon short, but in spite of their handicap they put tip a bravo fight. The strong defence of Montgomery, Rankin, Moran, and M'Carthy did much to Btem tho splendid attacks of such experts as Estcourt arid Robinson, whoso passing to each other was an object lesson. Casey and Hudson played a strong attack game for tlio losers, and tlioir efforts were splendidly hclpod by Turner, Parks, and Shaw, who played tho game of his life. For tlio winners, Stacy (who has stnick his'old form), Webb, Renauf, Gibson,' Streeter, and liverard showed up prominently. Tlio play altogether was tho best seen this season, and while thcro is much for the new players to learn in the way of taking catches with certainty and passing instead or throwing wildly, their play showed marked improvement. In view of a poßsiblo visit to Wellington of a lacrosse 'team froiii tho Amevican-.Fleet, the players' hero would do well to practise assiduously so as to put up a ercditablo fight.
