RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

The Clinton-Jnvercargil] train was standing at the platform at Gore this morning, when the Waimea train, which was lato was run on to a side line. Owing, to tlio points in front of tho station being open, the engine from Waimea ran into tfie stationary train. ' Four trucks of tho Clinton train were smashed, and tho ongino damaged. The side of one truck was driven into the smoke-box of tho engino.. Two trucks of the Waimea train antf tho tender of tho engine were derailed. The driver (Carter) and the fireman (G. W. Johnson) had narrow escapes, but' wcro not injured. The train services were not delayed greatly, the wreckage being cleared, away early in the ■day. ■ .
