INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
The General Committee of the Wellington Industrial Association met last evening. Prosent The President (Mr. F. C. Crease), in, tho chair, Messrs. H. H. Seaton, A.-W., Newton. E. Bull, A. Brown, S. S. Williams, C. Palliser, and 11. F. Allen (secretary). Accounts were passed for payment to tho amount of £12 los. Tho following were clected members of tho Association Messrs. Packer and Son, Wellington Woollen -Company, Messrs. Wright Ranish and Co., Messrs. Schmoll'and Brown. Sir.; G., E. Linley, Mr. J. H. Robinson, ana Messrs. Kupli Bros. '.'Tho Secretary road a'very satisfactory report on a visit paid -by. a '.committee' to the Wellington Oilskin Factory, Taranaki Street. Mr. Allen also referred to tho "ropeat" order for railway locomotives given to Messrs. Price Bros., of the Thames, the construction of a large boiler for the tramways power house by Messrs. Luko and Co., and the contract sccured by Messrs. Cable and Co. for a similar boiler. These contracts had been won in the open market ; the local tenderers had beaten the English prices, and their work had given every satisfaction. He thought that these firms should receive the congratulations of tho Association. ' A congratulatory motion was adopted.
