Tlio City Electric Lighting Department intimated that throe new lamps, erected in the Standen Estate; were connected with the supply mains on May 28V ' A suggestion was received from Mr. J. W. Henderson that the portion of a road recently made by. him, fronting the Old Karori Road, be in future, known, and officially described on tho plan of the district, as "Stirling Terrace." This was agreed to. .

A letter was received from Mr. It., F. Smith;: solicitor/ of Petone, intimating that Mr. John Duthie and others were. prepared 'to transfer to the Council Section 147 of the Beautiful Karori Estate, as an access to adjoining lands. It was pointed out that as tho section had only a frontage of 28.5 links by a depth of links,' and therefore could not be stated in the transfer to be for the purpose of a public road, it would be necessary, in tho event of tho. Council accepting tho offer, for a resolution to be passed, on the condition that the land should be, used as a public right-of-way, thus safeguarding the interests of those transferring it. , _ It was unanimously decided to accept the offer. 1 Tho'Public Works 'Committee reported in favour of the purchase of, a horse road-roller. It-was decided to give effect to the recommendation.
