SCATTERED RISKS.
It seems that the. farmer who does not carry all his eggs in one' basket is likely to come off the better in these unsteady times. One of these farmers is Mr. F.' Court, of Waihakeke., He is a sheep farmer, and, at the same time, an agriculturist. 'This year his wool only averaged 61d. per. pound, but he has sold his fat lambs. His forty acres of swedes havp brought him in £160, whilo he made 10s. an acre on them previously by running his sheep over ,them, jWhen tho crop was blightstricken.; -Now Mr. Court is ; sitting, tight with four big oat stacks, wait'ing for oaten chaff to advance to £7 per ton.- Mr. Court is one of the, most successful practical far-mers-in the Wairarapa. -■
