At a meeting of the committeo of the Canterbury Rugby Union tlio other evening, the Secretary said that ho had received a letter from a gentleman who had also forwarded a tin of shoa-polish and brushes bearing a "footballish" title, and stating that tliey might bo found useful at Lancaster Park. Ho had placed the paraphernalia in tlio Park. The committoe, according to the "Lyttelton Times," decided to "receive" tlio lotter. Another . communication, covering several closely-written shoots, was forwarded by a mysterious person who signed himself "Dudu," and essayed to tell the Union how football should bo played.
