Mr.' and Mrs. W. H. Short, senr., and.Mr. and. Mrs. SV. Short, junr., of Nelson, left Wellington yesterday for Fiji via Auckland, and tfience for an extensive tour of tho world. Atkinson,!who has been acting presi.dent; of the union ■during' Miss Richmond's absence, bv Miss Richmond, and' by Miss Cybelo Kirk; who is at tho head of the Tory Street Free Kindergarten. • Tea was serve-:! in' another.room, • whero the tablo was tily decorated with holly berries and spring flowers. Mrs. Grady received: in a striped blacks gown with .crea.ni lace. Mrs. Frank Grady wore a pale blue silk blouso and dark, skirt. Miss -Grady was in brown voile, handsomely. trimmed with bronzo silk and embroidery, and worn with a blouso of cream lace.. Miss Richmond's handsome coat and skirt' were of violet cloth, trimmed wit}# soutache braid, and she wore a plumed; hat' of violet velvet. Among the many guests present wore Mesdames Maurice Richmond, Fell, Cohen, D.
