There wcro no' sjiare scats at tho Opera Houso last evening, when Mr. Julius Knight and Miss Ola Humphrey, excellently supported by the rest of the company, gave another successful representation of tho dramatised version of tho powerful novel, "The / Scarlet Pimpernel." Another dramatisation of a popular novel, "Tho Prisoner of Zcnda," will bo tho company's second production on Wednesday evening next. _ Tho revival of this play after such a long interval is being looked forward to by theatre-goers. Tho full strength of tho company are said td be placed in most suitable roles, while excellent opportunities are afforded both Mr. Julius • Knight and Miss Ola Humphrey. Tho box plans open this morning at the Dresden. THEATRE ROYAL. - Fuller's . variety entertainers drew tho usual largo houso last ovoning. Denis Carney is now nearing tho end of his season, but his whimsicalities created as much laughter as ever. Tho melodious Huxhams scored t.h-oir usual Success, and Kadamo, thc_ Marlowe Sisters, and others each contributed interesting "turns." WELLINGTON MUFFS. " Tragedy," 1 ' a farcical comedy, is to be produced at Master ton on June 3 by the Wellington Muffs. Rehearsals, under the direction of Madamo Nita Steele, are approaching completion, and a good perform-. ance is assured. The next organ recital in tho Town Hall has been arranged for Wednesday evening (Princo of Wales's Birthday), instead of tho Tuesday, as originally announced. A " special request " programme will be played, and will include such popular pieces as tho " Tannhauser" overture, the minuet from " Samson," and\ Bendel's " Dornroschen." The recital should attract a' large number - /• holiday-makers, y ft ' OLYMFIA SKATING RINK. j ,\ Tho cosy rink in Ingestro Street is meet;'. with strong support. _ Each session is well attended by enthusiastic skaters, while fancy evolutions and waltzing serve to show beginners what can be done by an expert. This morning a children's matinee will bo hold, and to-night Miss Gamble wilV appear for tho last timo this season in an exhibition with Mr. Ragg. v The combined Wellington lodges of tho Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows held a social at St. Peter's Schoolroom Ihst evening, and an enjoyable evening was spent by those present. Dancing was indulged in, about seventy couples occupying tho floor.
