" —« — r -— Tho Petone Bowling Chib held a meeting to form a social club for the winter evenings, and those present decided to canvas 3 absent members and get their support to the movement. Mr. Stanes, who has held meetings during last week for tho young people, addressed the ladies on' Friday afternoon, and spoke chiefly on women and child- life .in India, showing the great difficulties the missionaries have in this work, which can only bo dono through lady medical missionaries, who are very much needed. Ho quoted an inslanco of a woman being given a strong lotion for outward application, and who, as soon as she got homo, drank the whole lot.
