M'Cardlo in (he chair.. .It was arranged thnt Mossrs. : M'Cardle and Hopkirk should act ns spokesmen' on presentation of tho drainage petition lo the City-Coun-cil. > The question of the Council obtaining, the necessary power lo enablo it to tako over private streets in the district was loft in the hands of Messrs. M'CarcHe and Frost, as was the desirability of supplying water wherever required. Messrs. Barres and Gollert were requested to go into the question of tho better lighting of tho district. Mr. Gellcrt was appointed to interview the captain of tho' local fire brigade to inquire, in what way, tho Association could best help the brigade. Several other matters were dealt with, aad the meeting 'was adjourned until Juno 5.
