HOCKEY.
INTERPItOVINCIAL FIXTURES. Tho Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association hold its first mooting of tho season at Batkin's rooms last evening, when thorc wore present: Messrs. W. J. M. F. Luckie, J. D. M'lntyro, M. 11. Oram, A. A. Bennett, C. Cathie, A. J. Cathie, Brittain, Donovan, and W!. E. Pearson (sccrotaTv). Mr. Ortian was elected chairman for tho ensuing year. It was decided to arrange, if possible, a representative match with Nelson on June 8, and with Auckland towards tho end-of tlie season. If tho team goes to Auckland, a match will be played against Taranaki en route. It was also decided to issue a challenge against Auckland for the Challenge Shield. .The following sub-committeemen were elected: —Senior Selection Committee": Messrs. W. J. Organ, A. Cathie, and C. S. Falconer; Junior: A. Pavitt, V. Willis, and A. A. Bennett; Match Committee: Messrs W. E. Pearson, A. Cathie, and M. H. Oram; Postponement Committeo, Messrs. W. J. Organ, W. E. Pearson, and C. Cathie. Owing to incomplete reports having been obtained last yoar, it was . resolved to ask. the secretaries of clubs and the Referees' Association to supply results of'matches. A ; . suggestion was received from the Referees' Association that the goals should be netted over the' top, but it was not adopted owing' to the expense. A discussion took place as'to the advisability of registering the Association under the Unclassified Societies Act, and a subcommittee, consisting ,of Messrs. W. J. Organ', W. E. Pearson, and M. F. Luckie, was set lip to fo into the matter.
Notice of motion was from the Now Zealand Hockey Association in regard to, altering one of the,rules to provide that no member of a local management committee should bo amember of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Association;. The delegate, Mr. W. G. Garfard, was instructed to support the. motion. ' 1
. A notice of motion was received to the effect that ladies' associations affiliated with the New Zealand Association should have the same privileges r.s. men's associations. The delegate was given a free hand in the matter. " y It was agreed that the question of doublebanking tho grounds next season should bo .taken in liand at 1 an early date, and' that no expense should be-incurred until that matter had been decided.
