HOTEL BURGLARIES.
(FROM OUK SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Marton,-May 15. It is evident that a midnight prowler, who is also an expert thief, is making a tour down this coast. Stratford recently reported a series of hotel robberies, and last night Marton had a similar experience. At the White Hart Hotel a boarder's room was entered, and the pockets of its inmate woro carefully gone through, all money being abstracted. Mr. P. Cormack's room was also entered, and the money in his pockets stolon. Tho thief is evidently an artist in his lino, and ho takes coin only, as some cheques in tho boarder's pockets wore not, taken. The Club Hotel was also entered, and hero the thief was soen by a housemaid, whoso room lie ontered with a lighted candle. On her awakening, ho threatened to blow her brains out if she gavo any alarm, and he then took the contents of her purse, which was lying on the toilet table, threw tho empty purse at her, and ciccampcd.' The police are investigating, and have some clue in the description given by tho housemaid at the Club Hotel. Tho total haul of tho robber amounted to about £14.
