An official report showj'that the number of industrial establishments in tho State at tho end of last year was 526 more than in' the previous year. The hands employed numbered 87,194, an increase of 9372, and the wages paid were £6,679,000, an increase of £1,088,000. The average wages were £76 125., as compared with £71 17s. during the past seven years. The employment of female labour'has doubled, and 1 male labour has increased 32 per-cent. ELECTIONS:LABOUR PROSPECTS POOR. Perth, May 15.
