Thcquestion of whether a Government servant, whilo employed in a Government building, is immune from the. embarrassing attentions of a bailiff armed with a judgment summons, came up at Court to-da.y. A judgment debtor was employed in the railway workshop's, and the Court bailjfV, who hail gone to serve his summons on those.' premises, had been put off by the manager of the works. The: Magistrate said lie had considered it his duty to report the matter to the Minister for Justice, as he was not going to have officials of the Court treated with discourtesy. An impassion prevails that Government servants cannot bo sorved with writs while engaged at' their ana the decision of the Minister on the point should prove of somo valuo.
