PLOUGHING MATCHES.
Mr. J. Balsillie, the popular president of. the Palmerston North branch of the Farmers' Union, judged at the ploughing match at Takapau yesterday. . Mr. Balsillie, who resides'in Kairanga, was formerly a resident of Hawke's Bay, and whenever there were any ploughing matches he always took a keen interest in them.. He considers that sucji competitions, .if encouraged in Manawatu, Would >be most beneficial.
