INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
X' mectiiig' of tho AVellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last night. Mr. F. C. Crease presided, and there ■wore about a dozen members present. '. Messrs. Hugh Douglas, E. A. Dahl, and S. Bryco were elected members of the Association.,/ A committee, consisting of Messrs. J. P. Luko, C. Palliscr, and' S. S. AVilliams, reported on a satisfactory visit to sonic ofthe departments of tho Technical School. The class in pattern-cutting for bootmaking was inspected for tho first time. Students were being taught how to design a boot or shoe, lit any foot, and givo comfort. It was noted-that there wcro 3i students in mechanical drawing and designing, 102 in elementary bookkeeping, and 23 in. advanced bookkeeping. Mr. J. P. Luke said the Association must still keep pogging away at the City Council 'in-regard to a sito for a new school. Tliero were 1100 individual students at the school, and anyone who saw the work going on, must realise, tile urgont necessity, of; greater accommodation. In the world of art, music, and science Now Zealand - and Australia had shown that they could produce as capable men mid women as older countries, and with the increasing work of tho technical schools it should not be necessary to send Iloino for educational exports. The committee wore thanked for their report. .
