The engineer reported to tho Ivairanga County Council yesterijayi that work had boon done in the various ridings as follows: — .Fizhcrbe.rt —The men and teams had been principally engaged on tho River Hank Road, tho Pahiatua Road, the main roads east and west, and Kahuterawa Road. Tho work at the Gorgo Road was proceeding satisfactorily, the road being open, to tho big slip. Weather permitting it was expected that the' Council's end of tho road .would bo open in about "six weeks' time. The plans were ready for a now bridge'over the Tiritca. Taonui—Owing to the illness of tho roadman only tho team has been employed effecting repairs oil the Foxton line, No. 1 line, Rongotoa and Aorangi Roads. Pipes had been delivered to the Kairanga School and levels supplied, but so far they had-not been -put In.. The Jackeytown bridgo needed repairing. Mangaone—Maintenance work had been carried out. and the work of repairing tho bridge on Wilson's Line commenced. The report was adopted. A special meeting of the Council will be held on June 9 for tho pnrposoof adopting by-laws regulating heavy, traffic, motor traffic, and- tho pollution of streams. Edward Meyers was yesterday sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment for being found without'lawful excuso on the premises of J. T. Childs, at tho Commercial Hotel.
