A house, occupied by Mr. liainlsj was swamped, Mrs. Hands boiiig rescued in a cart. Ono good featuro about the occurrence was that tho flood wont down very quickly. Tlio dato of tho fayewell social to' tho Rov. ; T. J. and Mrs. Smith lias been altered to May 25. Tho firo brigailesmen havo somo £18 'in hand towards the uniform fund. A good deal nf interest was manifested in the. poll taken yesterday: on'tho question of rating, on tho unimproved value. Out of 182 voters, 116 votes wcro recorded ns follow—For tho proposal, 101; .informal, 1; against, 14. Tho poll was carried.
