Though fully entitled to expect fine patches -of weather, v the time,has passed when tho greens could bo expected, to dry up to a condition ensuring anything approaching keenness, and though thq~freshly-rolled rinks played very- ,n;ell; on Saturday,- the ground was very and thoso older bowlers who -stjidy the in its. relation to their health decided that a quiet game of cards was moro to their liking on Saturday. The season that may,!bo Qonsidered closed■ has been'a record ..one as,far as' woather is concorned. -'For 'thrde-months—December, January, 'aftad could liavo been played every day, and there haye only been three Saturdays oh wljich it'was really impossible to .play. Consequently tho heart of the bowler has been glad, .and ho locks his bowls awayperfectly satisfied with the pleasure they have'given him during the past six'months.,.

' It had been arranged that the Dominion team of bowlers were, to play a match against'representatives'of the lington • Club; but the .' rain' which fell in the morning' took charge' of the arrangements, much to the relief of the visitors, .who have had bowls morning, noon, and night 1 for six weeks past. Most of the visitors, however, • turned- up at. the club's pavilion during'\tho ' afternoon, and wero given a .warm welcome, a report,' of which appears elsewhere.
