Pairclough, F.Ii.A.S., who has aft the city,' was unanimously olccted a life leinber in recognition of the great interest e had shown in the society during tho last our years. The President gave an interesting', address on' "Tho Advantages of a Delating Society." A musical and' elocutionary irogrammo, which had been arranged by Miss )ix, wns givon. The itoms were as follow:— liss Fitzmaurice and Miss Hill, pianoforte olos'i Miss Mueller and Miss Baker, vocal olos (both encored); Miss Mueller, Mr. loujlio, Miss Dix, Miss Olive Hart, and Miss 'aimer, recitations (all encored), and Mr. E. L. turgess (vice-president), recited Mark Twain's ' Amelia's Unfortunato Young Man," to the ccompauiment of much laughter.
