Thcro was a pretty wedding yesterday at St. Joseph's Church, Buckle Street, when Miss Eileen Gallagher, daughter of Mr. John Gallagher, of Hopper Street, was married to Mr. Edward John Fitzgibbori, solicitor, of this city. Tho Rev. Father O'Shca officiated,, assisted by the Rev. Father Clnne. Tho bride's handsome dress was of whito chiffon taffetas, trimmed with rich laco, and her bridal veil Was the gift of the nuns at tho Hokitika Convent. Sho carried a shower bouquet of white flowers.. Two sisters of tho bride, who acted as bridesmaids, wore white* silk frocks and white felt hats, and they earned scarlet bouquets. Two nieces of the bridegroom, who were also bridesmaids, wore freeks of white silk and quaint Dutch lace bonnets, and their bouquets were of white and-yellow flowers.' Mr. Porry acted as. b?st man. Mrs. .Gallagher, tho brido's mother, wore a dress of black brocade, and-black hat with whito plumes. Mrs. Fitzgibbon, mother of,: tho bridegroom, was in black silk with hat to match. After tho .ceremony tho parents of the bride entertained about two hundred guests at a wedding breakfast in the Alexandra Hall. The wedding cake, which was nearly fivo feet in height, was much admired. : ■ . , Little morning teas are verypopular just now. Yesterday morning, at Kirkcaldie and Stains's tea-rooms, Mrs. Chatfield had a small" tea, at which the guests were.Mesdames Tuckey, Hislop, ,M.. Ross, Stott, "Stafford, Geo. Campbell, and Turner. A meeting of the Convalescent Home Trustees was held yesterdaj' morning, when there were present, Mtesdames Brandon, Grady, Moorhouse, and Miss Coates,. Mrs. Barron (treasurer) and Mrs. Newman (acting-secre-tary). Mrs. Brandon presided. The matron reported that four patients had been admitted, and 'eleven discharged. She, acknowledged with thanks gifts from ' Mesdames Rotheram, Snaddon, and Johnson, and Mr. Kucli. ■ j ■•'•-. • Mrs.: Rolleston, of Willis Street, who lias been on a . brief visit" to Auckland, returned by last night's express. - 1 Yesterday'afternoon and evening a bazaar, was held in St. Thomas's Schoolroom in aid of the Sunday School, and of the Maori Mission. This bazaar, which was opened by tho Mayoress, was tho result of eighteen months', work on tho part of St. Agnes Guild, a guild of-girls belonging- to the parish, who meet/ every week to work. : As far 'as could be judged from the dismantled look of the sta.llc at the'end of-the evening,- their, efforts had met' with general approval: "'Tho fancy, stall' was under tho care of Misses Boulcott and Lucas; plain stall,- Misses. Smith and Marsden; sweet stall, Misses M. Bland and Orchard"; refreshments, Misses- Lobb, East on, and - Biggs; flower stall, Misses Croll and Holmes; and fairy well, in, charge of Mrs. French. Prizes were given ,for doll-dressing' ind sweet-making competitions, -and during tho afternoon and evening much amusement ivas causecl by nail-driving aiid hat-trimuiing competitions; A number of children who had been specially trained by Miss Bland, a, member of the Guild, did fancy'marches, and sang action-songs. The takings .amounted to over £30. ;,. Mr. A.. H. Fullford, ,of Brooklyn, was' surprised the other evening by about 150 'guests, who invaded, his house and jprepared to spend tho ovenirig. On the suggestion of the surprised h6st, the party adjourned to the hall, where a most/enjoyable evening was spent. ,
