A family ■ settled in the Forfcy-milo Bush, Hawke's Bay, had a strange experience in buying, a farm. Thoy wore in tho Old Country; and-having read about land laws in New Zealand thoy got into communication with a firm of land 1 agents, 1 who sent along a list of properties to choose from; They selected a farm, and were informed that "trams run right past the house." On reaching their solcction 'thoy found that the train line was a "hush tram," and for many months they wero heartbroken with th'o wild country they had readied. They have long ago got over that feeling, and now rejoico in possessing one of the best dairy farms in tho "Forty-, mile." , MR. CHAPMAN WAS SCEPTICAL, BUT RHEUMO CONVINCED HIM. Mr. 1?. J.
