Mr. Robert Scott, President of tho *Ota':;o Fanners' Union, sent word to-day that lio will contest tho by-olection for the Tuapekn seat, instead of holding off for the general Election. 1 saw Mr. John Bennetts, of Boxburgh, in town to-day, and ho savs that lie also will come out at once. I tliink ho will have a strong backing in tho Tcviot end of tho,electorate, and, of course, tho Government support everywhere.
