Dixon will'movo for tho Management Committee that Regulation No. 7 bo deleted, and that ' the. following bo added in lieu thereof:—7. In all challenge matches for the shield (as distinguished from an ordinary match'declared to bo, a challengo match under llule 2) , the New Zealand Union, shall, if requestod by either the challenging or tho challenged Union appoint a referee. Tliri challenging Union shall bo entitled so fains, tho-proceeds of that particular match will allow (after tlie payment-of'all actual ground charges, ; gatekecpors' wages, advertising, and other incidental expenses of the match) to reasonable expenses of transit only incurred by the challenging Union in playing tho match. Any balancc of such proceeds shall belong to' tho- Union challenged. 8. T'lio Union for tho timo being .holding the shield shall keep the samo insured against fire in the full insurable value thereof, and in tho event of the shield being damaged or destroyed will contribute tho amount of such insurance towards tho cost of making good such damage or replacing tho shield.' £).' If anv dispute shall arise as to'the amount of expenaes to be paid to the challengiiig-Union^

or as to any matter or question arising out of those'regulations, then the question in dispute shall be referred to tho Management Committeo of the New Zealand Rugby Union, •whoso decision shall be final and conclusivc. The Auckland Union is to move: —"That Rule 7, RanfurlyShield Regulations, bo deleted, and tho following rule bo substituted: —'In-tlie ovent of a challenge match (as distinguished from an ordinary match declared to be.a challenge, match) being played, tho. New Zealand Union' shall appoint the referee. Tho challenging Union shall receive, so far as tho nett proceeds from that particular match will allow,, reasonable board and travailing. expenses.) Tho balance, after payment, of such expenses, shall be, the property of the Union holding the shield prior to such match." '■ RULES OF THE GAME. Motions concerning tho laws of tho gamo will bo moved as under: — •.: By the Otago Union: —"That it he an instruction to the Committeo of Management to consider carefully theißules of tho Gamo with a view to their improvement whero possible and that the suggestions' of committeo- bo circulated among the affiliated Unions for their consideration prior to their being forwarded to the English Union for adoption." By the Manawatu Union:—"That it is -lasirable that : measures should be taken to empower line umpires to assist the refcr.?o in detecting instances of rough play." RtAiES AS TO PROFESSIONALISM. The Wellington Union has given notice of motion to move tho alterations of the rules as to professionalism decided upon at tho special meeting'held a few weeks ago. . . ' THE FINANCIAL SIDE. The following motions concerning finance will be brought forward: —Mr. G. H. Dixon (for the Management Committee) to move — "That any profit arising from the approaching tour of the British team'shall be divided among affiliated Unions pro rata, on - the basis of the subscriptions paid to tho N.Z. Union." The Wellington Union to move — "That in all matches played under the direotcontrol- of the Now Zealand Rugby Union half the not pronto be paid to .tho Um»u in whoso district the match is played. In the ;;ase of a team from beyond. New, Zealand touring the country, one half of tho net- profits obtained as a result of such' . .tour •'he 'divided between •' the Unions in whose districts the matches have been played, and where ' necessary the rules' governing the•■'Ranfmly Shield -be amended to fall into lino with Ui& above." The Wangnnui Union to move—"That the New Zcahiul Rugby 'Union . delete/the interest, clauses from all mortgages 'given by the various Unions to tho New Zealand' Rugby Union on account of loans, advanced, and 'tliat all such loans in future;.bo freo of interest." - .THE BRITISHERS' TOUR. Two, motions as follow'will be' moved in reference to the' British team's tour:—By tho Otago Union—"That it bol an instriic-, tioir .to .the Committeo of Management to re-arrango the programme for the. tour of the .'.firiti?h. -team" by substituting ;/Test ■'Matches'i'for the' matches ..South Island v. By tho .Southland- Union— "That 1 ' Test .v- against'.{the",-British" team, be substituted -for North' and South Island matches in the "itinerary of tho ■ British team." . ACCIDENT INSURANCE. 1 '= Tho Taranaki Union delegate will move:-r-----"That the New,'Zealand..
