Auckland, April 23. : Advices', from Rotorua state that tho Maoris of both Islands aro very anxious to secure a inatcli with the English footballer's; and negotiations to that end liavo been in progress between Mr. C. R. Paratn alid the New Zealand Rugby Union. Mr. l'arata has been informed that the Union would willingly do what it could to arrango tho match but tho '.itinerary has already been drawn up, and! tho matter 1 must bo left to the visitors. : .There is just a chanco that a match may bo arranged to bo played at Rotorua during tho .visitors' stay thoTo. : It was at Rotorua that th 6 last English team played a Nutiva fifteen, but, in the proposed event tho Maoris would bo representative of tho wliolo Dominion, and would not bo merely a local team. It is said that, out of, tho fifteen, ten would be inter-provincial .players.
