Tho cranium and part of .tho' right; forelegs were exposed through the'action of water, and ; hair-covered ..flesh was. found adhering to tho bones.'. Tlio Arctic foxes had, actually bogun to eat it, and water, has now been poured over,tho exposed ; remains so as to form a protective Mating of ice. .The scene of the discovery is so remote that tho journey there will occupy two months. -The remains will be,transported by,some fifty sleighs, drawn-by reindeer, to the River Lena, and the final stagos of tlio journey, from Irkutsk to St.. Petersburg, .will bo completed' by train. Russian scientists attach . tho greater value to the discovery, inasmuch as tho mammoth now exhibited in tho Zoological Musoum at St. Petersburg is known not to have reached full development. It is estimated to havo attained only 25 years. Tlioso mammoths are believed to harp lived about 100,000 years ago.
