RAILWAYS TROUBLE.

NOT YET OYER. . THREAT TO STRIKE. AN "ALL-GRADES" PROGRAMME. ■ DY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COrIRIGHT. (Rec! April 15, 11.40 p.m.) London, April, 15. The employees of the North Eastern Railway threaten to strike in favour of an "allgrades" programme, .including, an eight-hour day for all grades ongaged in the movement of vehicles, and two- shillings extra weekly for all grados working over eight hours. LAST YEAR'S AGREEMENT. : Tho. settlement of the railway trouble last year was on the basis hot .of "all grades" or collective bargaining, but of tho grouping.of the employees into, sections and tho appointing of sectional. conciliation boards to deal with matters in dispute. The Trado Union officials who wished'to bargain'with the whole unitary force of all tho grades behind them were disappointed. •'lt would seem that any talk of strike now is in contravention of the agreement, which, inter alia, provided: "The present scheme to" be in force;,until twelve months after notice has boeD given to terminate' it. , No such r.otice' to be' given within six years of the present date!" • This, it was said, meant a soven : years' peace in the railway world.,
