MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

;___4 —__ A meeting of the Makara County Council was hold at the Hutt Comity Council Chambers on Saturday, when there wero present— Councillors J. H. Hawkins (in tho chair), F, T. Mooro, S. Bryant, J. H. Haggerty, J. H. Eastwood, and G. Monk. A letter was received from Mr. F. Grear, Tawa Flat, complaining of excessive and unlawful charges made by tho ranger for the trespass of a; horse. Councillor Eastwood said that tho man could demand tho animal upon paying tho fees, hut not mileago fees, and lie moved that no action bo taken. This was decided upon. In regard to road motal, it was decided, on tho motion of Councillor Bryant, to accept 200 ,yards of metal from tho Ngahauranga quarry at 4s. per yard, for tho Porirua Riding, to be delivered within one month. An ofFer from Mr. Clarke to supply 100 yards of metal, at 2s. per yard, for the Ngahauranga Road, was also availed of. Amounts of £82 12s. 2d. and £23 2s. 6d. wero passed for payment, ns contributions to tho Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards.
