GHRISTCHURCH PONY-RACINC PROJECT. (BY TEMGBAPn.—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) , Chrlstchuroh, April 9. There are indications of tho advent of pony racing in Christchurch.' At yesterday's meeting of the A. and P. Association, a, letter was read from Messrs., Tonks,; Norton, and Co., on behalf of a syndicate, asking whether they could ,lease tho Association's grounds for a period of years for the purpose of holding pony/races. A track costing about £200 would be .required. , The chairman stated that, the I ;Association had £11,000 worth, of property _ being : idle, and was .paying over £240 in interest for a place that: was doing nothing. He was of opinion that anything that' could bo done to, increase the income should 'be .undertaken.
