' Perth, April 4./ At a meeting of tho West Australian Cricket Council, the secretary submitted ' a lengthy report concerning a misunderstanding which had occurred with the manager of tho English Eleven (Major Philip Trevor), on the occasion of the last visit of tho team. ' Major Trevor had written:—"ln 'regard to amount guaranteed under the agreement with the Board of Control in reference to English ' matches arranged to bo played in your Stato, your Council must bo prepared to allow tho Marylobono Club half of the gross takings of the ground only, and ■ guarantee the sum will amount to £250." ■ Tho secretary's contention was that the English Eleven, having received this amount in the first match, were only entitled to half the gross receipts on tho last visit, and this interpretation proved corrcct. ; ■ , ' Mr. A. 0. Jones, tho English captain, tho report states, saw fit to interpret the secretary's contention as nn attempt t-o do tho English team out of money to which they wore ontitled, and vilified him as' one attempting to deprive them of their just rights. It was decided that the account of tho conduct of certain members of tho English team, as contained in tho secretary's report; bo forwarded to the Board of Control, with a recommendation that that body should forward it to tho Marylebono Club.
