Included in tho demands of the shearers • • which have been referred to'the Arbitration,- ; Court are:—That the Union shall have-":, straight-out preference; that a week's worKv shall be .48 hours 20.' minutes; that' rates,of. pay be 225. 6d. per 100 for merino slicep and 21s. per 100 for all"other flock sheep, ranis (six months old and over) double ordinary.', T ' rates, stud'sheep, ram stags, and: doubto .; -, fleece sheep, rate and a half. V ... -7 It is further'demanded that in any machine shed'employing five or more shearers,.no persion shall -occupy the dual position of- ■ shearer and expert.
