"A SCHOOL FOR MOTHERS."
' ' Mr. Horace Marshall has published a useful little book which -should prove of much service. . It., is entitled' "A; School for Mothers," and the contributors ate all ladies 'who.may bo\ said to be experts in-the important matter of preventing-infant mortality. Sir Thomas Barlow, M.D., -has written/an introduction, while, a chapter has been added by Dr. j. F. J. Sykes, M.O.H.v Dr. Barlow says that there are many. attempts at present from different sides to' - deal -with, the. question of infant mortality; but of the many experiments now being tried "I doubt if there is one which has been more logically thought out than the 'School for Mothers' in Somers : Town."., The booklet.gives.an interesting description of . the usef,ul and -important work which has been done at this "School" since its institution. Tho account of the routine and-work carried on make, interesting reading, and the value of. such.a; "School" is clearly demonstrated.
