Sir, —I desire to. call the attention of. the public .through -'your columns to a class of workers whoso rights have novel - been insisted upon—l refer to tlio gaolers. The gaolers, sir, are nil already hard-worked lot (I speak from hearsay only), and there is a prospect of their having tlioir .duties and responsibilities increased by having to receive the miners from the Blackball and ■kindred unions. I trust, sir, that somo abler pen. thaii mino will take. this , matter up and soo that tlio injustice is put right by the formation of a Gaolers' Union.—l am, Masterton. BILL SIKES.
